As your work develops, you may need to develop as an organisation. This may require taking on staff, changing your organisation structure or offering opportunities to volunteers, and developing local community participation in your work.
Where to go for training
- Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO): provides a broad range of courses voluntary sector organisations which cover topics from IT to organisational governance; view their training calendar here
- Volunteer Scotland offers training in volunteer management
- ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service): provides employment training
- Health Issues in the Community: training programme which looks at issues such as health, poverty, power and social justice in a different way
- Pilotlight: manages teams of senior business people to coach charities in building more sustainable and efficient organisations
- Third Sector Interfaces: each local authority area in Scotland has a Third Sector Interface to help support and develop the third sector
