The REHIS Elementary Food and Health course is a good introduction to the links between food and health. The six-hour, accredited course is suitable for anyone involved in food and health work. There is also a similar course aimed at carers of adults with a learning disability.
They also have an accredited Elementary Cooking Skills course which is flexible and can be tailored to a wide range of audiences, from those with an interest in food, or considering entering catering training, to those learning to live independently for the first time. Some commuity food initiatives have used the course to train volunteers working in community cafés.
For people wanting to continue their learning, the Royal Society for Public Health have a range of nutrition qualifications.
