The Scottish Government has announced £30m flexible funding to local authorities to support households experiencing financial insecurity over the winter months.
Local authorities will be able to use this to top up their Scottish Welfare Fund, to provide financial support to tackle food insecurity or to meet fuel costs, or boost local funding for Discretionary Housing Payments. The funding also covers the cost of Free School Meal alternatives during the school holidays up to and including Easter.
