Mapping participation requests one year on

SCDC is still looking for responses to its short survey on participation requests. Participation requests are a new way for community groups and organisations to have their voices heard in the planning and delivery of services. The right to make a participation request to a public body was introduced as part of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act, and came into effect on the 1st April 2017.

SCDC asks that you take 5 minutes to answer some questions about your experience of participation requests, even if you have never heard of them before. This will help to build a picture of how participation requests are being used across Scotland and provide information on what else might be needed to ensure that the legislation works as intended. SCDC will shortly be producing a briefing highlighting learning so far, so this is your chance to suggest anything they haven’t thought of.
