Older People Eating Well

Wednesday June 16th 10.00am-3.00pm
Perth Concert Hall

This is a first networking meeting for community food initiatives working to support older people in their community to eat well.

Older people both run and use a wide range of community food initiatives. Food co-ops, shopping services, lunch clubs, growing projects, hot meals delivery services, community cafes – all play a vital role in supporting older people in communities to eat well.

The meeting will:

  • Bring together knowledge and experience from across Scotland
  • Share good practice about the range of work that supports older people to have a healthy and affordable diet of their choice
  • Think about the gaps in what is currently available in different communities and what would make the difference
  • Identify opportunities and the kinds of support you need to develop them.

The number of older people in Scotland is rising and it is likely that community food initiatives will look to play a larger role in making sure older people eat well. This is a first chance to start to map what will need to be in place to support this.
