International School Meals Day – Friday 8 March 2013
International School Meals Day is a collaborative project that began between the USA and Scotland and is aimed at raising the profile/value/importance of school meals. Various supporting organisations will be undertaking activities in support of the day including Scottish and AmericanSchools, Local authorities, APSE, ASSIST, Food for Life, BBC world class, Mary’s Meals, Global Child Nutrition Foundation, School Nutrition Association of America and the British council.
The USA and Scotland will be marking the day by twinning schools in their respective countries to share learning, experience and ideas. The first topic will be school meals related and the relationship will then be developed to encompass other topics of discussion and learning.
