We’ve changed our name!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to finding a new name for the Scottish Community Diet Project.

After ten years we have taken the decision to change our name to Community Food and Health (Scotland). Whilst the old name was well known, it was felt by some to be vague and to others misleading.

During the search for a new name, amongst the many suggestions received, none retained either the word ‘diet’ or ‘project’. The new name hopefully not only reflects our purpose but also mirrors the increasing use of the term ‘food and health’ by new structures, posts and courses. It has been decided to keep our distinctive logo and incorporate the new name.

Most importantly, the principles and practice remain the same, as they have been since the launch of the Scottish Diet Action Plan in 1996. Namely, to enhance the impact and influence of local activity on the national effort to promote social inclusion and tackle health inequalities through improved food access.
