Weight stigma – why it matters and what you can do about it
Our Diet, Physical Activity and Health Weight team colleagues at Public Health Scotland have recently launched a Challenging Weight Stigma Hub. The Learning Hub aims to raise awareness of the impact of weight stigma and provide insights that can empower you in your role to reduce weight stigma. It has been informed by people with lived experience of higher weight and weight stigma, who shared how their lives have been affected by bias and discrimination based on body weight and size.
You can find out more about the new Hub on the Public Health Scotland website.
The learning hub is free to access and available to all, all you need is an email address to register.
You can view a short animation that introduces the Hub on YouTube
