Cooking skills courses - improving practice: case studies

CFHS completed a *realist evaluation of 29 cooking skills courses in 2018. Eight organisations were involved in this cooking skills evaluation study group. ‘Chopping and Changing’ provides the findings from this study and ideas for running cooking courses. Three of the eight organisations then went on to incorporate learning from the realist evaluation into train the trainers’ cooking skills courses they deliver in their NHS Board areas. *Rather than simply finding out if cooking courses ‘work’ a realist evaluation aimed to find out ‘what works, for whom, why and in what context’.
