The Scottish Government is motivated to encourage more people to become active and take part in sport. As a result, the ‘Legacy 2014 Active Place Fund’ has been established to provide funding to ‘capital projects which create or improve places in local communities where people can go to get active’. Community-led projects which demonstrate positive outcomes ‘in terms of impact on physical activity or sports participation’ are highlighted. Grants between £10,000 and £100,000 are available and the deadline for the first round of awards is 1st February 2013.
